In 1994 a band named Green Day was blowing up the 924 Gilman/East Bay Punk music scene. They just dropped a little album entitled Dookie and sold over 13 million copies. Youngin's around the world saved up their allowance money to buy their CD, and felt like someone finally understood them. Green Day inspired their generation to learn to play and to learn about the roots of punk rock. In 2015 they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In October, over 100 artists walked through the doors of the legendary Fantasy Studios and spent over 22 days recording and mixing 14 songs at Fantasy Studios. Yes, the same place that Green Day recorded the original album.
UnderCover has asked 14 Bay Area Bands to put their own twist on the twisted. The genres have ranged from Arabic Rai to Gospel to Orchestral...with a ton of punk in between. Captaining the ship has been Music Director, Brian Adam McCune.
